Itinerary:

 

Day 1 Arrival, Airport pick up

In Airport Dubrovnik, Split, or Sarajevo you will meet your driver. He will then take you for a 3-hour drive with a private motor coach to the village of Medjugorje. Here, you will check in at the hotel whose modern and comfortable rooms you will be staying in for the next 6 nights. (D.B) 

 

In the evening join the daily evening prayer program at Saint James church from 17.00 – 20.00

17 Rosary - Confession

18 Holy Mass celebration

19 Adoration

Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

 

Day 2 Medjugorje, Apparition hill, Blue Cross, Orientation Tour

8 am Breakfast at the hotel

9 – 10 am Introduction around St. James church by guide-Visit St. James Church, the outside Altar, Statue of our Blessed Lady, Statue of St. Leopold, and Confessionals

 

10 – 11 am Join daily English (O en español, depende de los horarios del grupo en Medjugorje)

 

11.15 am With a guided climb of Apparition Hill where the young visionaries first encountered Our Lady. As you climb, you can see the inspired beauty of the bronze plaques depicting each mystery of the rosary, and pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Our Lady appeared.

Apparition Hill (Mount Podbrdo)

This mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Also, at the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where it is said Our Lady appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions. When climbing, your group is invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill, you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries, and enjoy private time in prayer. It was from Apparition Hill where Our Lady first began inviting the world, through the visionaries and the village of Medjugorje, to respond to Her call. There have been thousands of apparitions of Our Lady on this hill —apparitions that continue even today. 

 

Blue Cross  

"This Medjugorje site has a distinct Blue Cross marking the spot where the visionaries met in secret for their apparitions during the communist persecution of the early days. During the early days of persecution, Mt. Podbrdo (Apparition Hill) was occupied by the armed Yugoslavia Socialist Army. The Yugoslavian government did not believe in the apparitions. They wanted them to stop. Blue Cross was hidden from the road, not far from the base of Podbrdo, and went unnoticed by the Socialist Army. Apparition Hill was occupied briefly as thousands of visiting pilgrims ignored repeated attempts to stop the apparitions. Pilgrims continued to flood Medjugorje until the Army gave up trying to stop them and disappeared from sight.  From this most recent picture, we can see this hidden spot is no longer hidden.

Day 3:  Medjugorje, Retreat castle, Cenacolo

8:00 am  Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 am Join daily English Mass at St. James Church 

 

11:00 am  Visit the Nancy and Patrick Castle on your return to Medjugorje.  

In 1999, Nancy and Patrick Latta began to build a castle in  Medjugorje, to be used as a retreat place for priests, nuns, seminarians, and religious.

 

Afternoon visit the “Cenacolo”

The Community was founded in Saluzzo (Italy) by Sr. Elvira Petrozzi in 1983  to help drug addicts.  The main goal of the community is to discover and live the true values of the Christian life. According to their words,  their therapy is Jesus Christ, and the way of healing is prayer, work, and friendship. The boys of the “Cenacolo”

community gladly receives pilgrims and gives witness to their conversion and liberation from drug addiction.

Day 4 Cross Mountain

8:00 am  Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 am Join daily English Mass at St. James Church 

 

11:00      Climb Cross Mountain. As you climb, you can see the inspired artistry of the bronze plaques depicting each mystery of the Way of the Cross

 “Krizevac” means “Mount of the Cross.” It is the highest mountain in the area. In 1933, the parish of St. James erected a large concrete cross to commemorate the 1900th Anniversary of Jesus’ passion and death on the Cross. Cross Mountain is central to one’s pilgrimage to Medjugorje. It is a penitential climb that leads pilgrims to reflect upon their relationship with God and what they need to change to draw closer to Him. Deep healing, cleansing, and peace are often experienced at the summit of the mountain, at the foot of the cross, after pilgrims arrive at the top. Our Lady has made it clear in Her messages that it is Her desire to see pilgrims climbing both Cross Mountain and Apparition Mountain.

8:00 am  Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 am  Join daily English Mass at St. James Church 

 

Free day in Medjugorje for reflection in prayer and shopping
