Surmanci is a small village about 15 km east of Medjugorje, in the municipality of Čapljina. The Church of Divine Mercy stands in a valley near the Neretva river, with a tall bell tower crowned by a cross.
The church keeps the miraculous icon of Merciful Jesus that was previously venerated at the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Trento, where Ugo Festa was healed in 1990. It also holds a relic of St. Faustina.
